Intel’s tiny Euclid computer can be the brains of a robot - hessewereaujubmis

A compact car computer called Euclid from Intel should make the development of robots much easier.

Euclid looks some like the Kinect camera for Xbox consoles, merely IT's a self-contained PC that can beryllium the guts of a robot.

It's possible to install the Euclid computer where the "eyes" of a human-like robot would be typically placed. Intel demonstrated the Euclid computer in a robot mobile along stage during CEO Brian Krzanich's keynote at the Intel Developer Forum on Tuesday.

Euclid has a 3D RealSense photographic camera that tush serve as the eyes in a robot, capturing images in real-time. It has motion and position sensors that can aid the robot travel some indoors and outdoors.

An Spec processor provides the computing capabilities to analyze the images and information gathered by the robot.

Project Aero can be seamless for $399, Krzanich same. He didn't provide a dispatch date.

Later, Intel will ship a "downright drone political program" with the board and the parts necessary to make a drone from scratch. It'll ship in the 4th quarter of this year or beforehand next class, Krzanich said.

Intel's drones are already flying the skies. In June, 100 Intel drones successfully flew above Sydney Harbor.

These new ontogenesis kits are piece of Intel's campaign to build its 3D RealSense cameras into the hardware for augmented reality, virtual reality, drones, and robotics. The company announced the rising RealSense 400 television camera, which is sharper and provides better tracking than its predecessors. It's not clear whether Euclid and Project Aero are supported the new RealSense camera.
